mothers day mambo

Happy Thursday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog.

My new furniture arrived today. We were expecting the delivery between 7:30 & 9:30 a.m. I somehow thought it would be closer to the 9:30 time frame.

Well, at 6:10 the driver called and said he was running about 40 min ahead of schedule and would be at my home around 7:00.  Sure enough that's when he arrived.
They had everything moved in and papers signed by 7:30 and he was out the door.

It all looks so good with the new paint. My husband has come around, my friends. Once he saw the brown leather chairs against the accent wall he loved it. This is the wall that was painted a sort of avocado color.

I have to admit I was a little nervous when he didn't initially like the color. Even though my friends insisted that all was well.  Now that  I see it all together, I am very pleased.
I guess its like making a card. You select your colors and images but until its done you don't really know if it will look the way you envisioned.

My card did turn out the way I planned today. This one was made for 2 challenges.

1.  The Wednesday sketch challenge on splitcoaststampers had an easy sketch this week. It's one of those that really shows your designer paper off well.

2.  The colors on my card were from the curtain call color challenge #27. This is my first time making a card for this challenge. The hostess, Stacey, had us use melon mambo, pink pirouette, celery and white. I loved this color combo together. It just looks so vibrant. To me, it was the perfect colors for a mother's day card.

My designer paper is from the good neighbors collection. My image and sentiment are framed in melon mambo and a pink pirouette scallop square. It was cut with a nestie die.
I stamped the sentiment in celery and added a celery bow.

My blossoms are from the season of friendship stamp set and I added some pearls to the center. I cut one out and placed it on the corner for a little dimension.
That is basically my card.

It's time to turn off the lights in charmed life land for another day. We have a day trip to Ohio tomorrow. Come back for the scoop on where we went and what we did.

card recipe:
stamps: season of friendship, whipper snapper designs
paper: melon mambo, pink pirouette, whisper white
ink: melon mambo, certainly celery
accessories: nesties, ribbon, pearls
