Birthday Wishes

Hello Blogger friends! Happy Friday to you all.

Another weekend is upon us. Hope you have some fun summer plans or even better crafty plans. Nothing special here but it is Father's Day weekend.

I picked up an electric popcorn maker for my hubby. He started to make it on stove but ours is a glass cooktop and that isn't an easy feat without scratching it. He was careful but it's a lot more work and an electric unit will make it much easier. He doesn't know that I bought this so it will be a surprise.

Now onto my card for today. This one I created for the color challenge #895 on Splitcoaststampers. Chris was our hostess and she chose soft seafoam, garden green and soft suede for her color trio. Optional was to use any animal.

I have had the Counting Sheep stamps set and dies since the 2021 sale-a-bration event and never used them. So Chris' challenge was just the opportunity to pull them out and design a birthday card. And also to use some elements from some older Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin kits.

I had the stair step base in my stash and used it to create this card. The sheep I finished off with fun flock for added interest. Although it doesn't show in the photo well.

The wishes sentiment is from an older Paper Pumpkin kit, as is the sentiment banner. The Birthday and celebrate sentiments are from Paper Pumpkin kits. The balloons and fence are part of the counting Sheep die set.

This will be a birthday card for the many kids I give them to. The fun flocked sheep any kid will love. And, that's my card for this post. So until next time......God bless.

Father's Day Hot Air Balloon

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

We are expecting a severe thunderstorm in our area shortly, so I wanted to get this Blog post done just in case we lose power. They are forecasting large, damaging hail, wind and lightning so I am praying that our home is protected. It's almost summer now and storms are what happen.

Anyway, my card for today is one that I created for my nephew for Father's Day. It's already in the mail and he probably received it today.

I used the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #892. Karen was our hostess and she chose pacific point, gorgeous grape and pear pizzazz for her color trio. Optional this week is anything goes.

pacific point, pear pizzazz, gorgeous grape

For my option, I chose to use a card base from the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit. When I saw this kit, I thought the mountain scenery would be a great background for a hot air balloon.

I cut the balloon 3 times in the challenge colors then used the die inlay technique to add the gorgeous grape and pear pizzazz colors back in.

I cut a banner from another die and stamped my Father's Day greeting, and my card is finished. And that's my post for today. So until next time.......God bless.

Stamps: man of the hour (Waltzingmouse)
Paper: pacific point, gorgeous grape, pear pizzazz (Stampin' Up)

Party Cake

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

It's a rainy day here in Pittsburgh. It's supposed to be one of those all-day rains. When your confined to your house, it's always a good day to be in the crafty room doing something crafty. That's my plan after this post is complete.

I went for a shopping trip to the Tanger Outlets on Saturday. They are about a 25-minute drive from my home.  I haven't bought any summer clothes for a couple of years now. So, I treated myself. Chico's, Ann Taylor and Clark's outlets were a few of my stops. I even got to wear one of my new purchases to church on Sunday. I picked up a few things for our summer beach vacation as well.

Now onto my card for today. This one I made for the color challenge #CC894 on Splitcoaststampers. We were to use daffodil delight, magenta madness and night of navy for our color trio. Optional was to use a die cut or punch.
daffodil delight, magenta madness, night of navy

For my birthday card, I used the party cake die from CottageCutz. I used SC758 for my layout. It's an older sketch but it worked well to display my birthday cake.

The background paper is from the Stampin' Up 2020-2022 in-color pack. My birthday sentiment is from MFT. Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time.......God bless.

Father's Day Cupcakes

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

It's a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh. Hope you are enjoying more of the same wherever you are. We just came back from a 2-mile walk. We cut it shorter today because my hubby will be doing yard work and that gives him plenty of steps. I am going to the local outlets to do some shopping. So, I will be on my feet doing something fun.

Now onto my card for today. this one I made for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. I have created a slimline card for Father's Day card using the new Cupcake w/Cherry die and the Cupcake w/Twists die. I am giving this one to my next-door neighbor. He loves sweets of all kinds. I am going to pick him up a cupcake from our local bakery and give it to him along with this card. So, let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I decided to use the Circle Windows Slimline die to display the cupcake images. I cut it in a designer paper that I thought would work for a masculine card. The card base is white, and I rounded the corners of the base with the envelope punch board. It has a corner rounder.

White card Base: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Next, I cut the cupcakes in colors I thought complement the designer paper. I used chocolate for the swirls and icing because my neighbor is a big chocolate lover. So, his "real" cupcake will be a chocolate one.
I stamped the Father's Day sentiment in the center circle with grape ink. Then I cut a label shape from the Windows Slimline die set and stamped the "sweet treat" sentiment inside that with grape ink.
Now that all elements are prepared, I am ready to finish up the card assembly. I attached the designer paper window panel to the card base with double sided tape.
The Cupcakes & sentiment label are attached with dimensional adhesive. I scattered a few grape enamel dots to complete my card.
Well, that's it for me with this post. So until next time........God bless.
