Tulip Celebration

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with the Charmed Life Blog.

Since I am on summer break from Pre-School, I made myself a to-do list of different chores I want to complete this summer. So far I have finished 2 of them, Then my plans for today were tripped up.

I had to deal with our refrigerator repair. It's only 2 years old so you wouldn't think a repair would be necessary. But alas, we noticed it wasn't cooling properly so we called for service.

Fortunately, when we purchased it, we went for the extended warranty. Otherwise we would be paying for this repair now. The service man came out and replaced some fans in the refrigerator. Then later in the afternoon an error code showed up on the display. I called him and he came back and re-plugged the fans that he installed earlier.

It worked for a couple of hours and now the error codes are back again. I couldn't call him again this evening. Everyone deserves some downtime from their day job. I sent an email and will call him first thing in the morning. Hopefully, he can come back tomorrow and fix whatever is wrong.

I better move onto my card for today before I get myself in a tizzy over this refrigerator. This one I made for the Color Challenge #688 on Splitcoaststampers. Stef Perry was our hostess, and she chose watermelon wonder, old olive and smoky slate for her color trio. Optional this week is to use a die-cut.

For my card layout, I used the Jan 2018 card maps sketch. I somewhat modified it and left off the ribbon and bow.

I stenciled my background with a vintage quilt stencil in watermelon wonder.

My stamped watermelon wonder tulip images are from the Stampin'-Up "tranquil tulips" set. I have had this set for awhile and have been wanting to use it. I thought the colors this week were so right for the tulips.

Sentiment is from the Verve "poppy birthday" set. Finished off this card with a few metallic enamel shapes. I already sent this off to Barbara- another of our color challenge designers. She and her hubby celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last Friday.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time...….God bless.

Birthday Bouquet

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with the Charmed Life Blog today.

It's a beautiful Spring day here in Pittsburgh. Our gardens are coming to life after a long winter. My hubby has planted his peppers and basil yesterday. Looking forward to the first basil cutting already. Pesto is one of my summer delights.

I am also finished with Pre-School and enjoyed my first week of summer vacation. I have made a to-do list of things I want to accomplish over summer break. The biggest one is my craft room. Looking to give it a bit more organization. Hopefully, I get my list completed. I am determined so that always helps.

Now onto my card for today. This one I made for the color challenge #688. Stef is the hostess and she chose smoky slate, watermelon wonder and old olive for her color trio. Optional was to use a die cut.

For my card layout, I used the Jan 2018 cardmaps sketch. I somewhat modified it and left off the ribbon and bow. These sketches are published quarterly and for the January quarter they had 10 different sketches to choose from along with samples from designers. I will be using these again for sure.

The background old olive designer paper is from the Stampin'-Up "merry little Christmas" collection. The watermelon wonder flags were cut from the Stampin'-Up "color me irresistible" collection. I used the MFT flag stax.

My vase of flowers is the "Flowers for Mom" die from CottageCutz. It's a versatile die that can be used all year round. I turned it into a birthday bouquet.

The sentiment is from the Verve set "be blessed". Added a few metallic enamel shapes to complete the card. Now I have an extra birthday card on hand for some upcoming summer birthdays.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time...….God bless.
