Father's Day 2025

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

It's Father's Day here in the US. We started our day off with church and then went to lunch afterwards. Then we came home my hubby had a call from our California son.  We just spent 5 days with them, but it was nice to hear from him again.

We aren't getting to spend any time with our Pittsburgh son because he is traveling to FL on business. We will get to see him next weekend when he returns.

And right now, my hubby is watching the US Open Golf tournament. It's being held here in the Pittsburgh area. He did get to go last Monday for the practice rounds. A friend of ours gifted him with 2 tickets and he was able to go with his brother. It was a nice outing for them

Now onto my card for today. This one I created for my hubby for Father's Day. I used the contents of the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin' Up for the card. I saw this card on Pinterest, and I liked the fun fold, so I decided to use the idea and make one for my hubby. I changed the sentiments around and did some additional stamping to change it up a bit.

The first photo above shows the card completely closed. I took one of the envelopes from the kit and used it as a layer on the back of the middle layer. I stamped the bird images here.

This photo below shows the fun fold open. I have a die from Divinity Designs that cuts this fun fold design. It saves all the measuring you have to do. Once the base was cut from Misty Moonlight card stock, I took a printed card base from the kit and used it as designer paper. This particular die also cuts layers.

The trees on the middle layer are die cuts from the kit as is the sentiment. I stamped the card front and the last layer sentiments and also stamped some bird images.

My hubby loved his card. He is such a supporter of my work. Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time......God bless.

Mr. Fix-it

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

Well, my house is too quiet now after my CA kids left yesterday. I miss them already. But it was such a wonderful family time and that's the memories I want to hold onto.

After we came back from the airport yesterday the two little ones from next door came over for a visit. They are 6 & 4. They helped me strip the beds and throw the sheets down the laundry chute. Any kid that has ever come to my house loves to throw things down the chute. Even if it's not laundry (LOL)! They wanted to help especially after I told them I had some chores to do and couldn't visit just then.

We had some lemonade and treats and then they wanted to watch a movie. So, we did that for a bit before their Mom came to collect them. They just love coming over. They sometimes help my hubby in his garden and then they get to play hide and seek with him. I sometimes to do crafts with them which they also love. Their grandparents don't live close, so we are their "adopted ones".

Now onto my card for today. This one I made for my hubby for Father's Day, but it could be used for a masculine birthday as well. He really liked it and so did I. He has come a long way since we were first married with being able to fix things around our home.

I used the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #1003. I was the hostess, and I chose real red, azure afternoon and daffodil delight for my color trio. Optional was anything goes.
real red, azure afternoon, daffodil delight

I cut my pegboard in kraft cardstock (neutral) using the Pegboard die from MFT. The tools are also from MFT and I cut in metallic silver and the handles in the challenge colors. The hammer is cut in soft suede (neutral).

Well, that's it for me for this post. So, until next time......God bless.

Card Details:
Paper: real red, azure afternoon, daffodil delight, kraft, soft suede (Stampin' Up), silver metallic (Paper Temptress)

More Father's Day

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today. We had a great Father's Day celebration with my hubby and son. Dinner was here in our home and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Later this week my CA son and his family come in for their annual summer visit. It will be another great family time. We also have our annual family reunion for this Saturday. Usually, we have about 70 people in attendance. Everyone brings a dish to share, and the food is always excellent.

Now onto my card for today. This card I created for my CA son for Father's Day. It's a fun fold called a triangle easel technique. Here is a link to the YouTube video that gives all the dimensions.

I used the Baseball Cap die + the Baseball phrases die from CottageCutz for my card images. The stamped sentiment is from the MFT set- Simply Fabulous Sayings.

My designer paper is from the Stampin'Up "well suited " collection. That's my card for today. Here is another photo of the one I sent to my Pittsburgh son. Same card layout and designer paper, I changed the color of the Baseball cap.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time......God bless.

Father's Day Campout

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

It's Father's Day and we are having our Pittsburgh son here for dinner. I am serving cedar plank grilled salmon, filet mignon steaks, twice baked potatoes and grilled asparagus ravioli. I also have appetizers.
Lots of food and if we have leftovers, I will have dinner for tomorrow. Highly unlikely though. My hubby and son like to eat.

Now onto my card for today. This one I made for the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #1004. We were to use lemon-lime twist, melon mambo and pumpkin pie for the color trio. Optional was to make it a birthday card.

I decided to go with a Father's Day theme card. So, I skipped the option.
lemon-lime twist, melon mambo, pumpkin pie

I created this one for a close friend who loves the outdoors and their camp in the woods. A card with cute critters in an outdoor scene is perfect for him.

The background designer paper had the challenge colors or close to it. It's from the Stampin' Up "thoughtful Journey" collection. To get a deeper shade on the fox and the fire, I cut in pumpkin pie cardstock and shaded with pumpkin pie and spiced marmalade inks.

I cut the deer image in pecan pie cardstock and added the Father's Day sign in lemon-lime twist to complete this card.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So, until next time......God bless.

Card Details:
Stamps: man of the hour (Waltzingmouse)
Paper: mossy meadow, lemon-lime twist, pumpkin pie, ivory, pecan pie, soft suede, thoughtful journey dsp (Stampin' Up)
Paper Size: A2
Ink: pumpkin pie, choc chip (Stampin' Up), sand beige (Tsukineko)
Accessories: campin' out dies, deer under mistletoe die (CottageCutz)

Father's Day Fishing trip

Hello Blogger Friends. Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

Hope your weekend was a good one. We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday at my son's home. It was a great family time and honor to my hubby and son. We had a beautiful day and were able to sit outside on their newly redesigned patio. It turned out so beautifully. I should have taken pictures, but I forgot.

This card is the one I gave to my hubby for Father's Day. The background panel is a card base from the May 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit. This kit has card bases with great outdoor scenes. I cut the card base in half and used boho blue cardstock for my card base.

The Canoe and Bear are dies from the CottageCutz Campin Out collection. I stamped the Father's Day sentiment to complete this card.

That's it for me for this post. So until next time .....God bless.

card details:
Stamps: manly moments (PP May 2018)

Father's Day Camping Card

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today. It's Father's Day weekend and we will be celebrating with our son and his family. Looking forward to getting together.

I was a bit behind getting Father's Day cards ready this year. This one is for my son. I will be delivering it in person tomorrow since I only made it yesterday. I received my Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin Kit abut a week ago and these card bases are part of it. I thought they would make great backgrounds for Father's Day cards.

I cut the card base in half and used boho blue cardstock for my card base.Boho blue is one of the new Stampin' Up in-colors and it coordinates with this kit.

Since there is a tent in the background, I used a CottageCutz die that has the bear in a tent and placed it in the foreground. The tent is cut in moody mauve- a new Stampin' Up in- color. I also added a lantern carrying moose.

I stamped my sentiment, and this card is finished. That's it for me for this post so until next time......God bless.

card details:
Stamps: man of the hour (Waltzingmouse)
Paper: boho blue. moody mauve, baked brown sugar, soft suede, crumb cake, real red, vellum (Stampin' Up)

Father's Day Hot Air Balloon

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

We are expecting a severe thunderstorm in our area shortly, so I wanted to get this Blog post done just in case we lose power. They are forecasting large, damaging hail, wind and lightning so I am praying that our home is protected. It's almost summer now and storms are what happen.

Anyway, my card for today is one that I created for my nephew for Father's Day. It's already in the mail and he probably received it today.

I used the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #892. Karen was our hostess and she chose pacific point, gorgeous grape and pear pizzazz for her color trio. Optional this week is anything goes.

pacific point, pear pizzazz, gorgeous grape

For my option, I chose to use a card base from the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit. When I saw this kit, I thought the mountain scenery would be a great background for a hot air balloon.

I cut the balloon 3 times in the challenge colors then used the die inlay technique to add the gorgeous grape and pear pizzazz colors back in.

I cut a banner from another die and stamped my Father's Day greeting, and my card is finished. And that's my post for today. So until next time.......God bless.

Card details:
Stamps: man of the hour (Waltzingmouse)
Paper: pacific point, gorgeous grape, pear pizzazz (Stampin' Up)
Paper Size: A2

Father's Day Cupcakes

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

It's a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh. Hope you are enjoying more of the same wherever you are. We just came back from a 2-mile walk. We cut it shorter today because my hubby will be doing yard work and that gives him plenty of steps. I am going to the local outlets to do some shopping. So, I will be on my feet doing something fun.

Now onto my card for today. this one I made for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. I have created a slimline card for Father's Day card using the new Cupcake w/Cherry die and the Cupcake w/Twists die. I am giving this one to my next-door neighbor. He loves sweets of all kinds. I am going to pick him up a cupcake from our local bakery and give it to him along with this card. So, let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I decided to use the Circle Windows Slimline die to display the cupcake images. I cut it in a designer paper that I thought would work for a masculine card. The card base is white, and I rounded the corners of the base with the envelope punch board. It has a corner rounder.

White card Base: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Next, I cut the cupcakes in colors I thought complement the designer paper. I used chocolate for the swirls and icing because my neighbor is a big chocolate lover. So, his "real" cupcake will be a chocolate one.
I stamped the Father's Day sentiment in the center circle with grape ink. Then I cut a label shape from the Windows Slimline die set and stamped the "sweet treat" sentiment inside that with grape ink.
Now that all elements are prepared, I am ready to finish up the card assembly. I attached the designer paper window panel to the card base with double sided tape.
The Cupcakes & sentiment label are attached with dimensional adhesive. I scattered a few grape enamel dots to complete my card.
Well, that's it for me with this post. So until next time........God bless.

Gumball Treats for Dad

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

Hope you are enjoying the Spring weather in your neck of the woods. And, if it's not Spring type weather then hope you get to do something crafty today.

I attended my niece's Baby shower today. It was such a nice event held at a local restaurant. They had us out on a covered patio area.  And it was such a warm day, so everyone was quite comfortable. She is due in July, and they opted not to find out what sex the baby is. They want to be surprised. I like that they are doing this. So many couples don't want the element of surprise.

Now onto my card for today. This one I created for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. Today for your viewing pleasure I have created a Father's Day card using the new Candy & Gumballs die. So, let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I had a card base and matching designer paper layer in my stash from a Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin kit.  I thought it would be perfect for a masculine card. And it would work well to display the Gumball machine die.
Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
Circle: 2 1/2"
I cut my gumball machine in a color to match the card base. The gumballs are in coordinating colors.
Then for my sentiment, I computer generated this one. "Life is like bubblegum, Sweet at times, Sticky at others, and Best when shared". I used Andy font in 14 points and printed it out on the cardstock (pretty peacock- Stampin'- Up) that matched the designer paper.
Now that my card elements are prepared, I started card assembly. The designer paper layer is attached to the card base with dimensional adhesive.
The Gumball machine is attached to the circle layer with dimensional adhesive. I also used dimensional adhesive on the circle layer and laid it back in the die cut opening.
To finish off my card front, I cut the sentiment into strips and attached to the designer paper layer.
I also stamped my Father's Day sentiment on the card inside. I added a few of the leftover gumballs just for added interest.
That's my card for this post. So, until next time.........God Bless.

Die I used to create card:

2.  Creative Fingers has an anything goes challenge.

Dad's Tools

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today. It's Father's Day weekend. We don't have any plans for Sunday as yet. Our son and daughter-in-law usually call at the last minute with an invite or a suggestion for plans.

Tonight we are going to a concert in the Park in our area. They are having a group come in that plays oldies which my hubby loves. And one of the guys in the group happens to be the sound man at our church. So we have a few couples that are going to spend a summer evening together. Hopefully, the rain holds off. Because they are calling for major storms right at concert time.

Now onto my card for today. I made this card for my hubby using the colors from the challenge #846 at Splitcoaststampers. We were to use cinnamon cider, misty moonlight and evening evergreen. Optional was to make a masculine card.
My card is using a tool die from CottageCutz. My thought on this was to create a pegboard to hang the tools. But the tools were a bit small so I took another route. I placed them in the circle die with the pegboard in the background.

For the pegboard, I used cork paper and a polka dot background die from MFT. I layered kraft paper underneath that.

I don't have the new in-color papers or inks as yet so I subbed mossy meadow for the green. My sentiment is from an old Waltzingmouse set. To finish off the card I added some misty moonlight enamel dots.

My hubby doesn't consider himself a "handyman" type. But, I have watched him take on projects over the past several years that he wouldn't even consider touching when we first got married. Just the other day he hung new blinds in our bathroom. I was just so proud of him for undertaking the project because he originally asked someone else.

Well that's it for me for this post. So until next time........God bless.

card details:
Stamps: man of the hour (Waltzingmouse)
Paper: mossy meadow, misty moonlight, cinnamon cider, very vanilla, smoky slate (Stampin'-Up),cork paper, kraft (Recollections) ,
Paper Size: A2
Ink: mossy meadow
Accessories: Dad's Tools die (CottageCutz), polka dot cover-up die (MFT), in-color square enamel dots (Stampin'-Up), paper crimper (inknown)
