Nativity

Hello Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.

It's almost a wrap for 2019. This year whizzed by so fast for me, especially the last 3 months. I am looking forward to what 2020 will bring though. Even Christmas seemed to come quickly and now it's in the history books. Although it was a great family time and my son and his family are still here visiting. They will leave to go home this weekend.

While the house is still quiet and everyone is asleep I am posting another of my Christmas cards. This one was probably one of my favorites for 2019. I created it using the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #769. Jeanne was the hostess and she chose pretty peacock, so saffron and rococo rose for the color trio.
pretty peacock, so saffron, rococo rose
It was also my card for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog.

I am using the CottageCutz Nativity w/Donkey die. I cut a circle from pretty peacock cardstock and stenciled stars with white ink.

For the stable and the manger, I used ivory cardstock and sponged it with walnut stain distress ink. The hay is cut in so saffron and sponged with so saffron ink & dried marigold distress ink.

The sentiment is from PaperTrey ink and I used pretty peacock ink for stamping. To cover the rococo rose color, I scattered a few faceted enamel dots in that color.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time...…..God bless.

Joy Nativity

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog.

Well, another Christmas Day has come and gone.  I hope your celebration was a great one. We had a wonderful family time with my oldest son and his family. Today my youngest son and family come in for a week's visit. It will be time to enjoy one another. I wanted to get this Blog post done before we head to the airport to pick them up.

This card I made for the color challenge #755 on Splitcoaststampers. Chris was our hostess and she chose real red, call me clover and granny apple green for her color trio. Optional was to use plaid.
granny apple green call me clover, real red
Well, my card didn't go at all as planned, but I like how it turned out.  I ended up using black & white plaid paper to cover the optional item. It's from the Stampin'-Up "merry little Christmas" designer paper collection.

The Joy Nativity is a die from CottageCutz. It's currently on sale for 60% off. It would be a good time to get some new dies for next year's cards.

I also used a stitched edge die from MFT. Scattered a few enamel dots in "call me clover" and "granny apple green" colors to complete this card.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time......God bless.

Farm Truck Christmas

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog this Saturday before Christmas.

I have been neglecting my Blog because of finishing up my Preschool Christmas projects and then our Christmas program. But, now I am officially on break until January 2. The time off will be great to get refreshed and ready for the 2nd half of our school year.

I have so many of my Christmas cards to show so I will be posting regularly until the end of the year. This one I made for the color challenge #764 on Splitcoaststampers. Karen was the hostess and she chose old olive, pool party and poppy red for her color trio. As an optional she wanted us to use silver accents.
old olive, pool party, poppy parade
This is also my card for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. I used the Farm Truck w/Tree die to create my card.

The truck is cut it in poppy parade cardstock and then I sponged poppy parade around the truck for a bit deeper red shade.

The hubcaps are cut in silver cardstock to cover the optional and the door handle in pool party cardstock. The designer paper is part of the "Night Before Christmas" collection.

My Merry Christmas sentiment is from the CottageCutz  "Merry Christmas w/friends" die and is cut in poppy parade and again I sponged poppy parade ink to get a deeper red shade. I cut a small slope and added chunky glitter to give the truck a grounding spot.

Well that's it for me for this post. Hope your Christmas plans are right on schedule. I am a bit behind but hope to make a big dent today. So until next time.........God bless.

Napping Santa

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog on this Thanksgiving weekend 2019.

Hope you made it through the Thanksgiving celebration and the Black Friday sales. We didn't go out to do any shopping yesterday. But I am going to run to Michael's this morning to pick up some plastic scrapbooking storage cases. They are a good price and you can use a sale coupon to buy them.

I have started using those to store my preschool crafts for the month. That way I will have each month of the school year separated and ready to go for next year.

I am also going to start my Christmas decorating today. Well first all the Fall decorations have to come down. My plan is to get Christmas at least started and then do a bit each day.

We also talked about gifts yesterday when we were visiting with my son. None of us need anything so we discussed scaling back a bit and just do one gift each. I won't do that for my grandsons but maybe it's a good idea for the adults. We never really came to a decision on it so I guess I will talk about it more to my daughter-in-law since she was the one who brought up the subject.

Now onto my card for today. I decided to make an inside Christmas scene and I used this "Santa Napping" die from CottageCutz to create my card. He is tired after a long night of Christmas deliveries (LOL)!! Even his little puppy is exhausted!

For the wallpaper, I used Stampin'-Up cherry cobbler designer paper. The wood floor or carpeting is also designer paper from Stampin'-Up -  the "festive farmhouse" collection. He is napping in his favorite lounge chair.
My sentiment is from an old Stampin'-Up set "wandering words". I stamped it and then put a frame around it to resemble a wall decoration. Scattered a few stars to complete my card.

Well, that's it for me for this post. Until next time...…..God bless.

Card details:
Stamps: wandering words (Stampin'-Up)
Paper: cherry cobbler, whisper white, mossy meadow, soft suede, baked brown sugar, basic black, gold, festive farmhouse dsp (Stampin'-Up), vellum (PaperStudio)
Paper Size: A2
Ink: mossy meadow

Grateful for Friends

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog on Black Friday 2019.

Yes, it's already the day after Thanksgiving and another holiday in the books. We had a great family day yesterday and my food turned out perfectly. Lots of compliments from the Marsh family and that always makes me feel good. I spend two days spent in my kitchen preparing this meal so having the dishes turn out perfectly and the family raving over them is time well spent.

Today we are going over my son's to enjoy a leftover day with them. They spent yesterday with my daughter-in-laws family. This is a holiday that we share and I am okay with doing it that way.

We didn't go out to do any shopping this morning because I am not sure what anyone wants as yet. But all the hustle and bustle getting ready for Christmas starts now. I am going to start decorating this weekend. My cards are under control for having enough already made. So it's just shopping and wrapping that needs to get started.

Anyway, let's move onto my card for today. This one I made for the color challenge #767 on Splitcoaststampers.  Chris was the hostess and she chose pretty peacock, lovely lipstick and crushed curry for her color trio. Optional was a 4th color pumpkin pie.
pretty peacock, lovely lipstick, crushed curry, pumpkin pie
Well, I thought I would give it a shot at making a Thanksgiving card with these colors. Fortunately, I didn't have to mail this card because it went to my next door neighbor. I will took it over yesterday with a box of chocolates. I have been seeing these Merci chocolates advertised on the Hallmark channel so I went in search of them. Needless to say she likes chocolates.

So back to my card. I had this older Stampin'-Up Paper Pumpkin kit "Layers of Gratitude" and I used elements from it. The accordion card base came in the kit and instead of stamping each panel I used designer paper.

The papers are from the Stampin Up "come to gather" and "perfectly artistic" collections. I also embossed crushed curry cardstock with the Stampin Up Boho Chic embossing folder on 2 of the panels.

The felt thanks letters came in the kit and they work for this week's optional. The first panel is stamped with a sentiment that came as part of the kit. The last panel is stamped with a sentiment from the August Paper pumpkin kit "the gift of fall".

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time...….God bless.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to visit The Charmed Life Blog this Thanksgiving Day 2019.

I have a busy day ahead with cooking for our family. I hope your day is a blessed one whatever your plans may be. My menu for today is a roasted turkey & stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, brussel sprouts, corn casserole, cranberries, pumpkin pie and pumpkin roll. Some of it I made yesterday and will just need to be baked today. The turkey I am getting ready to put in my oven this morning.

But, before all the busyness starts I wanted to post a Thanksgiving card. This one I made for the color challenge #762 on Splitcoaststampers. I was the hostess and I chose merry merlot, daffodil delight and Cajun craze. Optional was to make it Fall or Thanksgiving.

For my sample, I turned to the Stampin'-Up "come to gather" designer paper and created a Thanksgiving card. The layout is one that I saw on Ann Schachs blog and I used it for my card.

The stitched leaves are a die from CottageCutz, and I sponged with Cajun craze and daffodil delight inks for some color variation. Used the gorgeous grunge stamp set and stamped some ink scatters on the larger circle.

The card base is daffodil delight, and I sponged the edges with cajun craze and daffodil delight inks to tone the yellow down a bit.

I scattered a few Cajun craze enamel dots and tied a small bow with Cajun craze linen thread to complete my card.

Well that's it for me for this post. So until next time...….God bless.
