turquoise birdie

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog.
It feels like summer here in the 'Burgh. We have had temps in the 80's the past several days.
My hubby turned the ac on yesterday. I had to shut it off. I just can't go from heat to ac overnight.

Our tulips haven't all bloomed yet so what does that tell you!! It's not summer time my friends.

I opened up all the windows and turned on the ceiling fans and I was happy.

Hope you all had a great Easter. We were with my son-daughter-in-law and grandsons. It was such a relaxing day. family time is always good.

Our attention has turned to getting our vacation plans secured. We are going to Bethany Beach in Delaware this year. We are just a little late at getting a rental. I found about 10 condos that were available the week we want to go. So hopefully this week that will be taken care of.

Oh well, onto my card for today. This one is for 2 challenges.

1. The color challenge on splitcoaststampers this week is celery, turquoise and soft suede. I really liked working with this combo. My card base is the celery and then soft suede. I added designer paper from 2 different stampin-up packs in soft suede. Ribbon and a celery button completed my card.

You may notice that I crimped one of my panels. Betty Wright gave us an extra challenge this week- use our crimpers. I can't remember the last time I used mine.

2. The 2nd challenge is the Wednesday sketch challenge on splitcoaststampers. This layout worked well for my card. I used the stampin-up bird punch instead of stamping an image.

Well, it's late and time to turn out the lights in charmed life land for today. God bless my blogging friends.

card recipe:
paper: su celery, turquoise, vv, soft suede, autumn traditions & specialty dsp
accessories: bird punch, ribbon, sherbet button

  2. Your card is so beautiful, Mary!! Love that bluebird. Isn't this punch awesome? Can't wait to catch up on my stamping when I get back. Have a great time on your vacation, hope the weather stays nice for you. We are in NJ right now and spent the day yesterday on the Boardwalk in Ocean City. It was in the 80's and it was like summer with everyone on the beach. I totally packed all wrong, I was wondering if the winter coat I brought would be warm enough :)

  7. I just love this bird punch...he looks great in turquoise! These colors are a fave of mine and I love your use of them...this is truly a gorgeous card! It was up to 90 degrees a couple of days this week here in VA and it was wonderful to be able to open some windows and let in the fresh air! Nothing like a warm, sunny spring day! Enjoy your vacation!

  9. Great job pulling together all the elements of the challenges, even the dessert. You know, I never got around to buying a crimper but every time I see a card with crimping, I want one! It's been unusually hot here in NC, too.
