time to celebrate

Happy Thursday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. It was a gorgeous day here in the 'Burgh as Pittsburgh is affectionately known.
Today is tax day here in the US. I sent my federal & state returns in previously and  today on the deadline I submitted the local taxes. It's over for another year-can I have a big whoo-hoo!!!

My card for today is for 2 challenges:

1.  The mojo monday sketch #134. It was designed by the talented Teresa Kline. I really liked working with this sketch and it worked perfectly for my masculine birthday card.

2.  The ways to use it challenge on splitcoaststampers was about the passage of time. We were to create a card with time as our element. We were given a lot of creative license on this. So I decided to make a masculine birthday card and use a clock and a calendar.

When I considered the colors, soft suede jumped right out. I knew if I picked a designer paper with stripes in it, I would be golden. So that's what I did.
The Christmas cocoa specialty pack from stampin-up had just the perfect striped papers. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder 'fleur de lis' for my background. I think this has a masculine appeal to it.
I added a stop watch and a calendar for my "time" elements. The Martha Stewart border punch is great for masculine cards.
My sentiment is from 2 stamp sets-bella's bloom & just celebrate.

I have an April birthday and when I get the date I will circle that on the calendar and stamp happy birthday on the inside.

Well, I am going to turn out the lights in charmed life land for today. Hope you found time to stamp today.

card recipe:
stamps: bella's bloom, just celebrate
paper: soft suede, real red, christmas cocoa dsp
ink: soft suede
accessories: k& co epoxy sticker, su calendar kit, ms border punch
