count your blessings

happy friday and welcome to the charmed life blog. it was another beautiful, sunny day here in pittsburgh.

I am enjoying the sunshine now because come january there won't be much. but, no complaints from this mouth.

a few years ago we had a missionary visit our church and he was talking about how much we complain. the weather was one area he touched on. he said it's not want God wants coming from us.

I was convicted by that message. from that point on I haven't complained about the winter weather in pittsburgh.

the bible admonishes us to do everything without complaining. I am not perfect by any means-God knows that. I just gained a victory in this area.

anyway, onto my card for today. I made another thanksgiving card. I should have mailed them out today, but I didn't get to it. I wanted to make some more but time is running short.

this card was for the thursday challenge over at splitcoaststampers.
we were challenged by julia to find ways to be thankful.

I chose to make a card around the harvest theme. we are so blessed in our land. so I am counting my blessings.

I used the designer paper from stampin-up's autumn traditions with always artichoke, elegant eggplant and white cardstock.

My image is colored with prismacolors and gamsol. I am still working on this technique but I am not so intimidated to color with these pencils now. I like how this one turned out.

I cut a leaf from the designer paper and added it in the corner.
I also used the cuttlebug embossing folder "just my type" to emboss the one panel. I thought it matched up with the dsp.

well, my friends friday is now a wrap. thanks for stopping by and remember to leave me a comment. I like hearing from all of you.
