Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today.
Have you noticed the days are getting longer? It's light until almost 5:30 right now here in Pittsburgh. That's always good to see in the midst of cold, winter days. We also have had 5 days of sunshine in a row. That is something that is really unusual for us in January. It's usually cloudy and we don't see the sun a lot this month. So even though it's been really cold - high temps of 22°-the sun shining always makes things feel differently.
For today's post, I am featuring a birthday card. I have several family birthdays this month and this one will go to my brother who celebrates on Saturday, January 15. This card needs to get out in the mail today. Although he is local so it will get there in time.
I used the colors from the color challenge #875 on Splitcoaststampers. Barbara was our hostess and she chose very vanilla, pretty peacock and pool party for her color trio. Optional was to use ribbon. Even though I am sending this to my brother, I think the ribbon still stays with the masculine vibe.

I used the two berry images from the Stampin'-Up "poinsettia petals" stamp for a bit of 2-step stamping. I was able to get the pool party color in that way.
The January sentiment is from the Stampin'-Up "days to remember" set. This is a new set I recently purchased. I hope to get a lot of use out of it with birthday cards. And the birthday wishes sentiment is a stamp from MFT. My designer paper is from the Stampin'-Up "brightly gleaming" collection. I had to fuss with the photo because of the copper metallic on the paper. I have trouble photographing metallics.
I used the velvet ribbon to divide my panels and then added a few pretty peacock faceted enamel dots. And that's my card for today. So, until next time.......God bless.
