Tulip Celebration

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with the Charmed Life Blog.

Since I am on summer break from Pre-School, I made myself a to-do list of different chores I want to complete this summer. So far I have finished 2 of them, Then my plans for today were tripped up.

I had to deal with our refrigerator repair. It's only 2 years old so you wouldn't think a repair would be necessary. But alas, we noticed it wasn't cooling properly so we called for service.

Fortunately, when we purchased it, we went for the extended warranty. Otherwise we would be paying for this repair now. The service man came out and replaced some fans in the refrigerator. Then later in the afternoon an error code showed up on the display. I called him and he came back and re-plugged the fans that he installed earlier.

It worked for a couple of hours and now the error codes are back again. I couldn't call him again this evening. Everyone deserves some downtime from their day job. I sent an email and will call him first thing in the morning. Hopefully, he can come back tomorrow and fix whatever is wrong.

I better move onto my card for today before I get myself in a tizzy over this refrigerator. This one I made for the Color Challenge #688 on Splitcoaststampers. Stef Perry was our hostess, and she chose watermelon wonder, old olive and smoky slate for her color trio. Optional this week is to use a die-cut.

For my card layout, I used the Jan 2018 card maps sketch. I somewhat modified it and left off the ribbon and bow.

I stenciled my background with a vintage quilt stencil in watermelon wonder.

My stamped watermelon wonder tulip images are from the Stampin'-Up "tranquil tulips" set. I have had this set for awhile and have been wanting to use it. I thought the colors this week were so right for the tulips.

Sentiment is from the Verve "poppy birthday" set. Finished off this card with a few metallic enamel shapes. I already sent this off to Barbara- another of our color challenge designers. She and her hubby celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last Friday.

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time...….God bless.

  2. Well, I wouldn't have thought to use grey cardstock but it looks great, especially with the added element of embossing. A delightful card.
Sorry am late commenting and thanks for sharing with us at Aud Sentiments.
