Happy Thursday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. One of those laid back days for me. Well except for all the telemarketing calls I have been getting lately. I am on the do-not call list but I still get the non-profits and political calls.
I picked up my phone to make a call today and there was a telemarketer on the line. Oh how convenient for them (lol). Today I had a call from the same Washington DC # every 15 minutes for an hour. I know it's someone's job but honestly do they realize how annoying their calls are???
I did work on a card. I made this one for the "ways to use it" challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Hannah was the hostess and she loves ruffles. So that was her challenge to us. Make a card with some ruffles on it.
I wanted to make a masculine card and after some thinking I decided I could ruch my ribbon. Then tie the end with twine and still keep a masculine feel to it.
My cowboy silhouette image is from a soon to be released set from Marks Finest Paper- "hey cowboy". I stamped it in artichoke ink and then sponged the background with some blues and a little wild honey.
I cut it with a label 10 Spellbinders die. My striped background paper is from BoBunny. The ribbon is from Stampin-Up- riding hood red.
For the sentiment I used another set from Marks Finest Papers - "cowgirls rule". I stamped the wood plank in wild honey on white cardstock and then stamped my birthday sentiment on riding hood red cardstock. I cut it out and distressed the edges.
Added some corner buttons and that completes this card. I think it still looks masculine even with a ruffled ribbon.
Well its late and time to dim the lights in charmed life land for another day. So until next time.......God bless.
Some other challenges:
1. My Mum's Craft Shop wants us to make something showing a celebration.
2. Shopping Our Stash has a masculine theme challenge.
3. Use It Tuesdays has an anything goes challenge. I used buttons from my stash and designer paper that I have had for over a year.
4. Love To Create Challenge blog has a birthday challenge.
Eeee-ha, what a cool card. I like what you did with the ribbon. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon is perfect for this card! Such a bright, cheerful masculine color palette, too. My stepdaughter was a telemarketer when she was in her late teens. She loved it though I can't imagine why. Once your primary is over, maybe the political calls will slow down. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Leave it to you to make a ruffled ribbon look manly!!LOL! Love that DP! A fantastic masculine card!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about those calls, especially when I get them on my cell phone and it uses my minutes if I answer...
Love the ribbon treatment you added to this...a fabulous masculine card, Mary! Yes, I'm with you on getting annoyed with all the political and non-profit callers! I generally don't answer, but still hate to listen to the ringing!
