Valentine Roses

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog today. 

We got hit with another snow storm last night and ended up with 5" of snow. But the road crew in our community is so good that the roads are good for driving early in the morning. It isn't like that in some of our surrounding communities so I am thankful. We are expecting more snow overnight again. Just not sure how much at this point. I will find out in the morning.

I did have a 9:30 am dentist appointment this morning. I was the only one in the office and this is a big practice. Lots of cancellations due to the weather. I have an SUV and it gets me around safely in the snow. Something else I am very thankful for. 

Now onto my card for today. This one I created for the color challenge #829 on Splitcoaststampers. I was the hostess and I selected red, vanilla and black for my color trio. Optional was to create a Valentine's card. 

For my card, I used some older designer paper that I had from Stampin'-Up. It was part of their  "timeless elegance" collection.  It's a black and vanilla collection so I decided to color some of the roses and leaves  with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I am really happy with how my coloring turned out. In this challenge dark green is a neutral color. 

The Love phrase is cut in real red cardstock as are the red hearts. I used the Love Phrase die from CottageCutz. To finish off this card, I added some vanilla seam binding with black ribbon and a bow. The heart center is a real red brad.
