Easter Cottage

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog this first Saturday in March.

I have been sick with a cold for a week. I helped my next door neighbor out when she was sick with this same thing, and I caught what she had. Then we have had contractors here working in our house so I just wasn't able to get the rest I needed for recovery. Well, last night I went to bed at 9:00 and work up at 9:00 this morning. I am feeling so much better and will be glad to put this behind me.

I have so much to get caught up on today and now I have the energy to do it. My craft room being the biggest thing. It just seems like I can't stay ahead of things in there. But, I guess every crafter goes through the same thing. You clean- then craft- room turns to a mess- then the cycle starts over again (LOL)!!! I need to get moving because tonight we turn the clocks ahead 1 hour. Losing an hour sleep always messes with me. So I am going to try to get to bed earlier.

Well, anyway let's move onto my card for today. This one I created for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. I used the new Spring Cottage die to create this fun Easter card.

Design Steps:

I found a watercolored designer paper that I decided to use for the cottage background. I liked the light shades of blue. I cut it using the largest of the Stitched Scallop Rectangle set. I selected Stampin'-Up highland heather cardstock for a layering panel  and the card base is purple posy.

Light purple card base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Medium Purple Layering Panel: 3 3/4" x 4 3/4"
Designer Paper Layer: 3 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Next, I cut the cottage elements. I used various spring like colors. All cardstock is from Stampin'-Up.
Stamped my sentiment directly on the designer paper. It's an Easter set from Lawn Fawn.
Now that all the card elements are prepared, I am ready to start card assembly. Used double sided tape to secure the die cut images to the designer paper. Then I layered the image panel onto the highland heather background.
I finished off my card by attaching the card base. Well, that's it for me for this post. Enjoy your weekend. It's going to be a warm one here so I hope to get a little outside time. So until next time...…..God bless.
