Friendship Grows

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time once again to stop and visit with the Charmed Life Blog.

It's a rainy Sunday here in Pittsburgh. One of those perfect days for sipping on some warm tea and crafting. Ha- you knew I would sneak the crafting aspect in there.

My hubby had to work today so as soon as I finish this post, I am off to my craft room. I have a few DT cards due this week and  I want to get a jump start on them. Plus the pre-school kiddos are making a gift for their Mom's so I have some prep work to do for that.

We had a cinco de mayo party at my son and daughter-in-laws home yesterday. We emphasize the food aspect of it more than the alcohol. We did have my daughter-in- laws special sangria recipe that paired so well with all the food dishes.

Her family came and her sisters are fabulous cooks. So we had quite a spread and each dish was better than the next. It was such a nice night of eating and socializing. I am getting hungry thinking  about all we had there (lol)!!

So let's move onto my card for today. This one I created for a recent DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. I used the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #684. The colors were tranquil tide, sweet sugarplum and rich razleberry.
tranquil tide, sweet sugarplum rich razzleberry

I started my card by stenciling my background with sweet sugarplum ink. This is one of my favorite techniques because it gives you a quick background that always looks great. Especially if you don't have the right designer paper to use.

The vintage quilt stencil was one I bought some time ago and never used. I applied the ink with a Clarity Brush because I wanted the stencil work to be very soft. The Clarity Brush works great this way.

The iron stand w/plants is a die from CottageCutz. I cut the greenery in tranquil tide cardstock. I didn’t think I would like that color for greens, but I do. My pots are all cut in rich razzleberry cardstock.

Stamped my friendship sentiment and added a couple of sweet sugarplum enamel shapes to complete my card. Well that's it for me for this post. So until next time.......God bless.
