Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with the Charmed Life Blog today.
Well, my house is so very quiet today. My son and his family left late yesterday afternoon for home. Today besides missing them will be spent getting the house back in order. I will be stripping beds, cleaning bathrooms and putting Phoenix Daisy's toys back in her toy basket.

It was a wonderful visit and went by so quickly. I will be going out to San Francisco in 2 weeks to take care of Phoenix Daisy while her parents go away for a little alone time before my daughter-in-law starts back to school. She teaches at the same school that Phoenix attends.

So before I begin my day,  let's get started on my card details. This one I created for the color challenge #696 on Splitcoaststampers. Pam was the hostess and she chose pineapple punch, calypso coral and pear pizzazz for her color trio. Optional was to make a summer treat on your card.
pineapple punch, calypso coral, pear pizzazz
I chose ice cream as my treat and created the cone with a die from CottageCutz. For the ice cream scoops, I sponged calypso coral, daffodil delight and pear pizzazz on whisper white cardstock and then cut with the die. I wanted a softer look than I would get using those colors of cardstock. The cone has 2 layers to it and I used baked brown sugar cardstock and sponged the inside layer to get a darker shade.

The background designer paper is from the Stampin'-Up "under the sea" and "petal garden" collections. I used the MFT blueprints 18 dies to cut the dsp and blueprints 15 for the coral strip that is angled.

The sweet phrase is also a die from CottageCutz. I cut it 3x to get more definition. I finished off my card by stamping my sentiment and adding some pear pizzazz and calypso coral enamel dots.

My finished card is 4 ½" x 5 ¾". I didn't have any 12 x 12 paper, so I did a hinge technique to get a bigger card base. See this blog post for more photos and details on how I do this.
Basically, I cut 2 calypso coral panels at 5 ¾" x 4 ½" and another panel at 2" x 5 ¾". I score this 2" panel at 1" and then use score tape to secure to the larger panels. You end up with a card base of 4 ½" x 5 ¾".

Well, that's it for me for this post. So until next time...…..God bless.
