Hello Blogger Friends and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. We have had some beautiful as well as sunny days here in Pittsburgh the past few weeks.
Our flower gardens are still flourishing as well as our tomatoes. I canned 9 jars of tomato sauce in the last few days. It takes 30 medium size tomatoes to yield 4 - 16 oz. jars. It's a bit of work but this winter I will be glad that I made the effort.
We have more tomatoes coming but not enough for another batch. So I may go to the farmers market tomorrow night and pick up some to can another 4 jars. I am getting into it I tell you.
I already made pear butter (jam) and strawberry jam. I will give this to family and friends at Christmas. Homemade food gifts are always appreciated at Christmas or anytime really.
Now onto my card for today. I mentioned the other day that I needed to get a move on my Christmas cards since it is already October. So I am showing one today.
This is the sample I made for CC496 on Splitcoaststampers. Karen was our hostess and she chose Cherry Cobbler, Soft Sky and Island Indigo for her color trio. Our dessert option this week is to make a Christmas card. I am behind on mine so this was perfect for me.

I decided to use this Nativity Border die that I purchased recently from Taylored Expressions. To create my scene I first sponged my background with the Spellbinders Impressabilities diamonds and stars. I sponged on soft sky cardstock with island indigo ink.
The angel is the first stamp I ever purchased but there is no name on it. I stamped in Versamark and island indigo and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I fussy cut her to give more dimension. The “peace” word is a die from PaperTrey Ink.
My card is a 5 ¾” square and the card base is where I used the cherry cobbler. Well, that's it for me for today. So until next time......God Bless.

This is really beautiful, Mary, and I do love that l angel. The colors are super, too.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like making soup from home canned tomatoes....so much better than the ones from the store. My mom used to give me some to use and they were delicious. I wish I had a place to plant tomatoes. I have too much shade.
