Hope You Can Cling TO Challenge 12

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Well we survived the "Franken-Storm".

The storm was on a path to Pittsburgh and then when it reached the center of the state it turned north. We had rain and wind but no major damage or flooding. It has been raining here since Saturday but the only heavy day was Monday.

The Eastern part of our state was hit a bit heavier. My prayers go out to NY & NJ where there was terrible destruction.

My card for today is another that I made for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. The cards are going to the Andersen Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Dini is our hostess for the "spreading the news" challenge. She wants us to make a card inspired by a show tune from any musical or movie. Mine is the Disney movie I'll Be Home For Christmas. The song of the same name was part of the movie soundtrack.

So for my image I used an  image I received from our recent stamp club meeting. We ran out of time to put the card together there. The image is from the Stampin-Up "Christmas lodge" set. It is stamped in not quite navy ink and a Spellbinders labels 4 to cut it out. It was sponged before removing it from the die.

The background snowflake embossing is a folder from Sizzix. I used a piece of unknown patterned paper with a musical score on it.
Added some ribbon and a bow & snowflake button on this layer.

The sentiment stamped in not quite navy ink and cut out with a Spellbinder oval die and sponged before removing from die.

That's it for me today so until next time........God Bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Lady Ann Blog has an anything goes challenge.
2.  Love To Create Blog has a lots of layers challenge.
3.  Stamp and Create has a winter wonderland challenge.

Hope YOu Can Cling To Challenge 11

Happy Saturday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. I took Ethan (youngest grandson) back home after a 2 day visit with us. We had such a great time with him. He loves the special attention that he gets when his brothers aren't around. We love giving him the attention as well.

He helped us with the leaf raking. We had to do it 3 days in a row. And after this super storm that's supposed to come through,  I am sure the front yard will be filled again with fallen leaves. Oh well its relaxing to be out there raking -for me anyway.

Ethan learning to use the leaf blower

Now onto my card for today. This is another I made for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  These are being made for the UT MD Cancer Center in Houston TX. And also because October is breast cancer awareness month.

Judy is our hostess and she titled this challenge the "monster mash". Her challenge to us is a reminder! Get 'em mashed, squooshed, photographed, x-rayed, and checked! And to that end, we will be making creations inspired by "The Monster Mash"!

I don't have any monster type stamps so I went looking through my stash. I found these cute rub-ons from Stampin-Up's "so cool" collection. They look like they are getting ready to jam with Boris and friends(lol)!!

I paired them up with designer paper from the "good morning sunshine" collection also from Stampin-Up. My sentiment is also a rub-on from the same collection.

The layout is this weeks freshly made sketch #58.

That's my card for this challenge and also the end of my post for today. So until next time......God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Fussy and Fancy Blog has an anything goes challenge.
2.  Through the Craft Room Door has an anything goes.

New Day

Happy Friday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Seems like Friday rolls around quicker and quicker each week (lol)!! Oh well, I guess that just brings the week-end in faster.

But this Friday is a special one here at our home. We have Ethan, our youngest grandson, here for a couple of days. I picked him up at school on Thursday and took him to a doctors appointment and then brought him to my home. Tonight, he and hubby are going to a high school football game. He loves doing that with his Pap.

Not sure what we will be doing during the day but something fun I am sure. That's why my post is up early today.

Now onto my card for today. This is my card for Splitcoaststampers color challenge #397.
Julia is our hostess and she chose very vanilla, choc chip and pumpkin pie for our color palette. She also wanted us to make a fall/thanksgiving card.

Layout is the sweet stop sketch #180. My background designer paper is from DCWV "harvest gathering stack" collection.

My larger rectangle panel is striped designer paper from Stampin-Up's-chocolate chip collection.

For my smaller rectangle panel, I used the pumpkin harvest Cuttlebug embossing folder in pumpkin pie. My oval is cut in very vanilla from the Spellbinders floral oval die.

The sentiment is a stamp from Great Impressions Stamps – new day E770. I stamped in chocolate chip ink. To finish my card and the sketch I die cut a pennant flag in chocolate chip cardstock using a Spellbinders die.

That's my card for today so until next time........God bless.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 10

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Getting an early start to my day today so I thought I would post now instead of tonight.

I was over with my grandsons yesterday so I was a bit tired when I returned from there. So no post yesterday for me.

I picked Ethan up from school and we stopped for an after school snack. Had quite a lengthy and interesting discussion on the Presidential debate & election with him. All 3 of the boys are informed politically, and we go back and forth with our ideology.
I am quite the proud Grandmother I realize that but I am very impressed with how these young boys sort out thoughts and ideas and form their opinions.

Well onto my card for today. I am showing a shaped card that I made for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge 10 on Splitcoastampers. Jeanne was our hostess for this one and she wanted us to make a shaped card. No circles, squares or rectangles were allowed in this one.

I remembered a template I had from Paper Crafts magazine for a lamp shaped card. So that's the direction I took. I had 2 color choices and designer papers so I decided to make 2 cards.

This first one is made with Stampin-Up's "attic boutique" and "soft suede" designer papers.

I used some riding hood red satin ribbon for the lamp shade trim and added a die cut daisy in riding hood red as well. The dotted center is soft suede.

My serenity sentiment is from the MFP set "island life".

The 2nd one I made uses designer paper from Stampin-Up's "thoroughly modern" collection.

I used some lace trim as well as satin ruffled ribbon. The sentiment is from the Marks Finest Papers set "lighthouses". I used just a portion of this sentiment.

Cut a daisy in whisper white sponged the edges and added a rose red center.

Well that's it for me today. Hope you will stop back tomorrow to see what I am up to.

Until next time........God Bless

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 9

Happy Monday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Hope you had a relaxing weekend and some fun this weekend. We went to our youngest grandson's football game on Sunday afternoon.

They won in overtime 14-12. It's only a 6th grade team but we love going to watch. And it was a perfect day for a football game. Sunny but on the cool side and definitely sweat shirt weather.

We came back home and had an old-fashioned Sunday dinner. I made a roast in the crock pan and roasted some potatoes in the oven and some sweet corn. It reminded me of Sundays when I was growing up. Our meal was always special and different than the rest of the week. Hubby loved everything and now he has left-overs for lunch today. He has an especially long day at work.

Now onto my card for today. I am still working on the cards for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. They are all going to the UT MD Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

For Challenge 9 Patricia was our hostess for you "had me in stitches".  She wants us to create a humorous card using stitching as an embellishment.

For my card I used the stamp set "flamingos on vacation" from Marks Finest Papers.

I stamped the flamingos in melon mambo ink on pretty in pink cardstock- so no coloring required.
I then did some fussy cutting and added them to the white card stock.
The sentiment is also stamped in melon mambo ink.

My card base is pear pizzazz with matching designer paper on the next layer. I cut my scallop edge with the MFT die "jumbo scallops".

My stitching is faux-I used a stamp from Marks Finest Papers "sew what" set. My Stampin-Up ribbon is also stitched.

That's my card for today. Time to close this post so until next time......God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  ABC Challenges has a new to you challenge. I used new stitched ribbon.
2Lady Ann has an anything goes challenge.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 8

Happy Saturday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. Nothing really to report today. I have spent the last 2 days making cards. Trying to catch up on the Hope You Can Cling To challenges on Splitcoaststampers. These are being made for the UT MD Cancer Center in Houston Tx. I have enough now to do my first mailing this week.

When you are playing catch up sometimes you don't pay close attention to the rules. I made a birthday card this morning for one of the challenges only to find out after I was finished and card photographed that I made it in the wrong color (lol)!!. I really liked the colors I used but it wont work for this challenge. My neighbors birthday is today so I will give it to her and make another one for this challenge.

So onto my card for today. This is one I made for Lori's challenge #8. She wanted us to take the letters HYCCT and use them in your card or project. This was a bit tricky but I did it creatively.

 H- half circle

Y- Yea - as my affirmative vote for Lori's challenge

C- Christmas Carol -"joy to the world"

C- Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

T- Triangle

Card Details: I used the MFT die "dizzy doily" and cut it out in Stampin-Up's  raspberry ripple for one of the sketch circles.

I used a Spellbinder circle die for the other circle in this layout and cut it out in pink pirouette. I stamped this circle with a Verve stamp from the "winter wonder" set. My sentiment is also from this same Verve set.

Christmas tree image is from the JustRite set "O Christmas Tree" stamped in lucky limeade. It is die cut with a Spellbinders pennants die.

Punched a snowflake in pink pirouette to complete my card. My card layout is this sketch from the MojoMonday sketch challenge #259.

Well that 's it for me for today. It's late and church in the morning. So until next time........God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  One Stop Craft Challenge has an anything goes challenge.
2.  Cards Galore has an anything goes challenge.
3.  Just Keep on Crafting has an anything goes Christmas challenge.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 18

Happy Friday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Today is my day to post on the Great Impressions Blog. See that post here.

I decided to make a card that would work for several challenges as well.

Hope You Can Cling To on Splitcoaststampers: These ones are for the UT MD Cancer Center in Houston.

Ardyth is our hostess for challenge 18. She wanted us to make a card inspired by one of the 4 vital signs:
heart beat (pulse), temperature, blood pressure or breathing.

I decided on the breathing. When the doctor or nurse takes your vitals they are always telling you to take a deep breath or breath in and breath out.

I used the fabulous sentiment by Great Impressions - "life is not measured F252". To keep the measuring theme I used some designer paper from Stampin-Up- the "fan fair" collection.

My card colors are island indigo and rich razzleberry. The layout is this week's sketch #145 from Pals Paper Arts

That's it for me today so until next time.......God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Cards Galore Challenge Blog has an anything goes.
2Oozak Blog has a die-cuts challenge. I used 3 dies on my card.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 7

Happy Thursday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Our weather here has been so warm the past few days. We had rain today and it got a bit cooler but not for long. Love the warmer days of fall because I know what's coming soon.
It was a good day to make an oven meal. I had some left-over turkey so I decided to make turkey tetrazzini. It turned out so delicious. We didn't have any regular milk so I used almond milk. My hubby really liked it. And there will be leftovers for his lunch tomorrow.

I tried to get caught up on the cards I am making for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers.. There is one every day for the month of October. But I only got 2 made today. So I am still about 7 behind so hopefully tomorrow I will get 3 or 4 done. I am sending them all to the MD Andersen Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

The card I am showing today was for challenge 7. Tenia was our hostess and she wanted us to create a card using pink and using any music related stamps or paper. I used music stamps.

My background music stamp is from American Art Stamps - "ripped music". I stamped it in certainly celery.

My singing bird, music notes and sing sentiment are from a set from Simon Says Stamp - "why do birds fall in love". They are also stamped in certainly celery.

My layout is an old MojoMonday sketch #251.

My card colors are pretty in pink and certainly celery. The dotted and striped designer paper are from Stampin-Up. To complete my card I added a pink felt flower.

That's my card for this challenge. Well that's it for me today so until next time......God bless.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 5

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. I am doing so well after the dental work I had done yesterday. Pain was minor and ibuprofen helped with that.
I even was able to go over and meet my grandsons school bus. I helped Ethan with his vocabulary homework and made everyone an after school snack. The other 2 boys had to be taken back to school at 5:30 for a basketball game tonight. I did get to see both of them play so that was fun for me. Then headed back home around 7:30.
So onto my card for today. This is another one that I made for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge on Splitcoaststampers. For more info on the challenge - click here.
Kathy was our hostess for this 5th challenge and she wants us to make a card that inspires strength and courage.

I decided to meet her challenge requirements through the colors I used on my card and my sentiment.

Color red - represents strength
Color orange - represents joy and energy
Color brown - represents health
Butterflies - represent hope

My card base is poppy parade and the designer papers are from Stampin-Up's "everyday enchantment" & "christmas cocoa" collections. The designer paper has shades of poppy parade, peach parfait and soft suede.

My image is from Stampin-Up's "fresh vintage" set. I stamped in poppy parade and lucky limeade.
My hope sentiment is from an unknown set. The layout is last week's Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge #406.

Well that's it for me today. So until next time.........God bless.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 4

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. This is a quick post today. I had some emergency dental work done today and my mouth is throbbing. Plus I want to finish this in time to watch the Presidential debate tonight.

My card is another that I made for the Hope You Can Cling to Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. More info on those here. This is challenge 4 and Victoria is our hostess. She wants us to use strips of paper to anchor our focal image.

My 5 background strips are done with Stampin-Up blushing bride designer paper.
My focal image is from the Stampin-Up "fresh vintage" stamp set. I used blushing bride and pear pizzazz markers to color the flowers. Mounted this on some early espresso cardstock.

I added some blushing bride ribbon to this layer. To complete my card I cut a flag pennant and used a sentiment from the Stampin-Up "kind and caring thoughts" set.

On the inside of the card I stamped the rest of the sentiment----"you're many things but most of all you're loved".

My layout is an older MojoMonday sketch #229.

That's my card for this challenge. Time to close this post. So until next time.........God bless.

Some other challenges:

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 3

Happy Sunday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. I had a busy weekend with a wedding on Friday. On Saturday one of the young women from church that my husband and I mentor came and stayed overnight. Her hubby was out of town on a business trip. She is 7 months pregnant  and I felt bad that she was alone. I am also having a baby shower for her in a couple of weeks and we worked on the centerpieces for the tables.

So now its Sunday afternoon and my hubby is at work so I have the day to myself. I plan on doing some crafting for a blog hop that I am a part of this week. So make sure you drop by tomorrow for the start of it. The design team from Great Impressions Stamps is teaming up with Echo Park Paper design team for a Christmas blog hop.

Onto my card for today. This is another that I made  for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. Edna is the hostess for the "Five Words" challenge. Her challenge was to use 5 individual words on a card.

My words are from 2 different stamp sets. The words on the flags are from Stampin-Up's "wandering words" set. The words in my circle are from PTI's "round and round" set.

My image is from Great impressions Stamps - seeded dandelions -G298  and  blowing seeds- A118.

I stamped the dandelions on a background that was created with Stampin-Up's "weathered" background stamp in wild honey ink.

My card base is cajun craze and the designer paper is from BoBunny. The layout is from the Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge 379.

Great Impressions Stamps Release Week

Happy Friday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life blog. Well we had another frost on Wednesday but the stuff my hubby wants to save for another week or so he covered. The tomato plants are in that category. We have lots of green tomatoes on the stalks. Not too much longer and we will be having lots of cold nights. Although for Thursday night the temps are in the 40's so no covering tonight.

Onto my card for today. This one is from a new release from Great Impressions Stamps. The sentiment The sentiment is "new day" - E770. Don't you just love the wording? I placed it inside the "sunflower tag" - H231. I thinks this is a perfect card for Thanksgiving. Also one that would be easy to make 4 or 5 quickly.

Here are some card details: My card base is Stampin-Up's chocolate chip cardstock and then I layered peach parfait and some patterned paper from Basic Grey's "Indian Summer " collection.

I used Stampin-Up's cajun craze ink on the sunflower tag & sentiment and used a peach parfait marker for the flowers.

On the rectangle panel, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then added a flag pennant. This was cut from a Spellbinders die. To complete the card I punched 3 small
circles from cajun craze cardstock.

My layout is this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch #169

That's it for me for today. There are some prizes to be won for leaving a comment on the Great Impressions blog.

The new releases started previewing on Sunday. So all you have to do is leave 7 comments on that blog for a chance to win. Easy Peasy!!

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 1C

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog.  Today I attended another cooking class at a local cooking school and kitchen ware supply in Pittsburgh. It's the Crate Cook. The classes are demonstration style and then we get to eat what they cook. It's called a lunch & learn.

Today the menu was: BBQ Mahogany Salmon, Indian Summer Gratin with Butternut Squash, Potatoes, Corn, and Bacon Fruit and Nut Stuffed Apples with Cream Drizzle

I liked everything we had and plan on making the Gratin as a side dish for Thanksgiving. If you would like any recipes, just drop me an email or leave a comment and I will send them out to you in email.

Now onto my card for today. This is another one that I made for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. Beate was our hostess for the "rays of hope" challenge. She wanted us to make a card in mostly gray tones with just a splash of color. To show that there is always hope in the battle against cancer.

My card is using the sentiment from ODBD "never give up". I stamped it in the vintage label 10 from Waltzingmouse Stamps and then used a Spellbinders labels 10 die to cut it out.

My layout is this weeks WMS #117. Added some satin ribbon and a bow with button center to complete this card.

Well that 's it for me for this post. So until next time.......God bless.

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge 1B

Happy Tuesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life blog. We had a frost overnight. My hubby always tries to keep his flowers and plants just a bit longer so he covers them at night.

The dahlia bush has some many buds on it getting ready to bloom. I love the variety he has planted so I hope we get all the flowers before the killing frost comes along.

I cut some daisies, hydrangea, toad lilies, marigolds and ornamental grass and made a lovely fresh bouquet for my daughter-in-law today. I have been trying to take her flowers every week. I always loved a bouquet greeting me when I came home from work. And she loves fresh flowers on her table as well.

Well onto my card for today. This is another one I made for the Hope you Can Cling To Challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  Lori was our hostess for the 2nd challenge and she wanted us to make a card for the kids.

Since I am sending all my HYCCT cards to the UT MD Andersen Cancer Center I decided to make a kid's birthday card.

Someone may need one to give to a kiddo who is celebrating a birthday while undergoing treatment or a parent who is being treated needs one for their child.

My cute turtle and cupcake images are from Darcie's Stamps-the "talilah turtle collection".

They have a line of printed images called "u-cuts". You have to fussy cut them for use on your project.

I used a bright color combo with Stampin-Up's melon mambo and pink pirouette and designer paper from the "cheerful treat" collection.

My sentiment is from the Stampin-Up set "party this way".

That's my card for this challenge. It's time to dim the lights in Charmed Life land for another day so until next time..........

Hope You Can Cling to Challenge 1A

Happy Monday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life blog. Well,  I made it through the weekend. Our out of town guests came in on Saturday and left this afternoon.

I was sort of in a tailspin because they called me on Thursday night and said they were coming in on Saturday. I had a women's breakfast at my church that I was hostessing. But thank the Lord I managed to get everything done that I wanted to. The breakfast and getting my home prepared for company.

We had a great dinner together on Saturday evening and lots of good conversation. They had tickets for the Steeler football game on Sunday afternoon and I went to watch my youngest grandson play football.

We met back at our home on Sunday night and just ate some pizza together. So it all worked out good.

Now onto my card for today. I am making cards for the Hope You Can Cling to Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. It's a month long card drive for the UT MD Andersen Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
There are lots of prizes being given away so click here if you want more information and how to play along  in the challenges.

The first challenge was hosted by Lydia. She wanted us to make a card and show us our style. The thing that makes me, me!!

I like using designer paper, ribbon and layers plus different color combinations. And, it is also my card for color challenge #395. Betty was the hostess and she chose the color palette of perfect plum, summer starfruit and tangerine tango.

We also had the option of using the 4th color of pool party. Whoo-Hoo I used all 4 colors.

The image I used is from Great Impressions Stamps – When It Rains –F448. I stamped it in perfect plum and then paper pieced all the rain boots in this week’s colors.

Card base is pool party and I layered perfect plum designer paper. My ribbon is Stampin-Up’s stitched satin ribbon in summer starfruit. I used a dahlia button for the bow center.

My layout is from the sweet stop sketch #178.

Well that's it for me for today. So until next time......God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Come and Get It Challenges wants us to pick 3 itmes from their list for our card. I used purple, ribbon, scallops and circles.

~The Journey~

Happy Friday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. This is going to be such a busy week-end for me. I just found out that I have 3 out-of-town guests coming to stay with us.

I am so not prepared for guests- as in getting the house ready. But, I felt as though I couldn't say no. So tomorrow after my dentist appointment and going shopping for a woman's breakfast  that I am hosting at church on Saturday and getting the tables set-up and decorated, I will be cleaning my house.

Then on Saturday, after the women's breakfast, I will go food shopping so my guests have something to eat and then I can finish up anything that needs done in the house. Whew!! I want to keep a good attitude about this last minute stuff so I can enjoy my guests.

Onto my card for today.  My bicycle image is from Great Impressions Stamps – vintage big wheel E683. I stamped it in island indigo.

The sentiment is also from Great Impressions Stamps – D406. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiment on 2 lines.

The background designer paper is from Stampin-Up’s "fan fair collection". It was perfect for this vintage bike image.

My card uses an older Mojomonday sketch 258. For the circles on this layout, I used the MFT die “dizzy doily and Spellbinders circle die. The circles at the top are punched in mustard and riding hood red cardstock

The flags are also from MFT and I cut them in island indigo cardstock. Added a button to my image and threaded mustard cardstock through it to complete my card.

Well that's it for me for this post. So until next time.........God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Crafts and Me has a sentiments challenge.
2.  Creative Belli has a sports theme. I thought a bike image represents a sporting activity. My button is from my stash of buttons.
3.  C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog has a sport challenge.

A Pheasant Sketch

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life blog. I had a great day today. Took a cooking class at a local cooking school here in Pittsburgh. The Crate Cooking School.

They prepare the meal right in front of you in their kitchens. We had Cannelloni with Margherita Filling and Bechamel Sauce (so delicious), Arugula Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette, and Italian Sesame cookies.

I have the recipes so am looking forward to making this at home. It will be a special meal so I would like to have my son and daughter-in-law over when I make this.

My card for today is another one I made for the VSN on Splitcoaststampers.

Vannessa was our hostess for a sketch challenge - SEP12VSNL. She provided us a classroom layout for us to work into a card.

I decided to use the pheasant image from the Stampin-Up - "autumn days" set. I used choc chip, sage shadow and more mustard markers to color the ringneck. Then I did some fussy cutting and popped it up in the center of the card.

Since mine is a fall theme I looked in my stash for the appropriate paper. I found this older Stampin-Up paper - the "autumn vine" collection.

I used a square punch as well as a spellbinder die to cut the designer paper. I layered the squares on more mustard card stock. In the center of the squares I added a leaf from May Arts Ribbon trim.

That's my card for today. So until next time.........God bless

Some other challenges:
1.  Crafty Creations Challenge wants to see fall colors on our creations.
2.  Loves Rubber Stamps has an "all about autumn" challenge.
3Creative Stamp Friends has an autumn colors challenge.
4.  Stamp with Fun has an autumn challenge.

A Season For Everything

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. I have another card to show today that I made for the Virtual Stamp Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

This one covered 2 of the challenges

SEP12VSNI: Brenda wants us to use apples as our inspiration.

SEP12VSNJ: Angie wants us to use the color red on our card.

I started my card by first choosing my layout. This one is from the Sweet Stop Sketch #175.
I knew I had designer paper in my stash from Stampin-Up's "summer picnic" collection that had apples on it and plus it was red.

I cut a doily die in choc chip -added a flag over that-both dies are from MFT. My card base is also choc chip.

I stamped my scripture sentiment on my rectangle layer. The stamp is from repeat impressions.

I cut from the designer paper 3 apples and used them on the corner.

That's my card and post for today so until next time........God bless

Some other challenges:
1.  Deep Ocean Challenge wants us to use more than 2 colors. I used choc chip, red and green.
2.  The Pink Elephant wants us to use a banner.
3.  My Sheri Crafts wants us to use an apple or pumpkin.

Hugs & Kisses

Happy Tuesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Today I am showing a card that I made for 2 of the VSN challenges on Splitcoaststampers

Barbara was the hostess of the Friday night 7:00 pm challenge. She wanted us to incorporate "r’s" into our card.

For the 3 r’s challenge I used:

the color Red

Raincoat

Rubbers or Rain Boots

Rounded corners

Rectangles

I also entered this into the Saturday 1:oo pm challenge. Michelle was the hostess and she wanted us to “graffiti it up".  We can use anything that sprays.

For the graffiti it up challenge, I used a Stampin-Up color spritzer tool and sprayed marina mist ink on the white background layer.

This is also for the Fan Club central theme of "back to primary". On this card I chose the primary colors red, yellow, blue

My card layout is from last weeks MFT sketch –MFTWSC89.

My image is from Darcie’s Stamps. She sells a line of printed images that you cut out yourself. She calls them “U-cuts”. I fussy cut the little girl from her "showers of kisses" collection and the rain puddle under her feet.

My card base is daffodil delight and designer paper from Stampin-Up’s attic boutique” collection. I added some dew drops to complete my card.

That's it for me for this post. So until next time.........God bless.

Some other challenges:
1Forever Friends has an anything goes challenge.
2.  Lollipop Crafts has a something old, something new challenge. Old would be everything on my card except the color spritzer. It's new and first time I used it.
3.  Songbird Challenges is: "girls just wanna have fun".

Great Impressions Stamps Monthly Challenge

Happy Monday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Charmed Life Blog. Hope you all had a great week-end. Ours was all about family. Love those times the best.

Friday was Ethan's (our youngest grandson) birthday. The family time wasn't until Saturday though. He wanted to go to Smokey Bones for dinner. I think its a good place for ribs. Which is exactly what I had. Then we went back to my son & daughter-in-laws home for ice cream cake. That was yummy as well.

Sunday afternoon we went to his football game. He is on the 5th-6th grade team.  It started off in the rain but eventually it stopped and the sun came out. They won 36-6. We spent Sunday evening at home watching Anne of Green Gables.

Now here it is Monday and the first day of October. It's also time for another monthly challenge at the Great Impressions Stamp Blog. This month the theme is fall or halloween.

I chose the fall theme and used the too cute pumpkin stamp E551. I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

I used a Spellbinders oval die and sponged in the background before removing it from the die. I cut a floral oval die in tangerine tango. On my vanilla background, I used the Cuttlebug pumpkin harvest embossing folder.

I added some tangerine tango ribbon. I computer generated the sentiment and cut it out with  a Spellbinder lacy oval die. That completed this card.

Hope you can play along with us this month. There is a prize to be won and then the honor of being a top pix as well.

Some other challenges:
1.  Just Some Lines has a "celebrate fall" challenge.
2.  My Sheri Crafts has an apple or pumpkin challenge.
3Simply Create Too has an autumn/fall challenge.
4.  Everybody Art-challenge is autumn.
