blessings to you on this monday afternoon!! thanks for taking the time to make my blog a part of your day.

my card today is for 2 challenges. the stampin sisters in christ are hosting their 6th challenge. we are to make a card letting someone know that we are thinking of them or praying for them.

a "thinking of you" card is always sure to bring a smile to someone's face.

and, it blesses those who send it as much as those who receive it!

the bible tells us that we are to laugh with our happy friends when they're happy; and share tears when they're down. so this card can go either way. I will place it in my stash for an opportune moment to send it.

it is also clean and simple card day (limited layers and embellishments) over at splitcoaststampers. our challenge there is to use shades of pink, green, blue & (chocolate optional) + white or cream.

I used stampin-up porcelain prints designer to cover the green, flower fusion too in shades of pink and brown and added a blue pearl center.

greetings to all who are visiting my blog on what was a beautiful, sunny sunday here in pittsburgh. it was such a lovely fall day.

our church service was so inspiring today. we sang a song written by paul labloche titled "your name":

your name (jesus) is a strong and mighty tower

your name is a shelter like no other

your name, let the nations sing it louder

cause nothing has the power to save

but your name

I love worship and especially ones that exalt the name of jesus, our lord.

now, onto my card for the day. this one uses the verve stamp set-"practically perfect". it's a cute set with bunny images and sentiments for baby cards.

it's good to have baby cards in your stash. I will need a few boy cards in the next couple of months.

my inspiration for this card came from the blog- just give me stamps.

I used stampin up parisian breeze designer paper along with chocolate chip and baja breeze cardstock. the rectangle pieces were cut with nestabilities.

isn't the corduroy button cute? I cut a thin sliver of blue cardstock and ran it through the button.

today!! I hope the start of the week-end is good for you no matter where you are.

it's a rainy day here in pittsburgh. so that makes it a good day for stamping. then again any day is a good day for stamping (lol!!)

my card today is for 2 different challenges. the 1st is the splitcoaststampers inspiration challenge. you can get more info here. we visited a site called the pajama squid for our card inspirations.
I found this cute little snail.

the 2nd challenge is the saturday crazy 4 challenges and that info is here. I used their sketch on my card.

I had an embossed image from we r memory keepers that I knew would work perfectly for what I had in mind.
this card will be good when I am a little late sending a birthday card-hence the sentiment. which, is computer generated since I don't have a stamp with those words.

I used some stampin-up jersey shore designer paper and then added a little strip of it under my snail. kind of as a crawling surface. stamped some clouds and then sponged the background to resemble the sky.

my cute little candle is from dress it up buttons. I also used a cuttlebug "birthday"embossing folder.

Welcome to the charmed life blog! I appreciate you taking the time to check in on my creative journey. I am displaying a Christmas card in today's post. I have a head start on my cards this year. woo-hoo!!

I used the Verve (mojomonday) sketch to create this Christmas card. This layout was such fun to use, and I can say that I am pleased with the results. I may use this design for other Christmas cards that I make.

Today over at splitcoaststampers is the friday limited supplies challenge. Our challenge

involves three things: S, O, and S.

It is up to me to decide what they are! So here is my SOS.

S= star on tree-

O=circle punches in "O" shape

S=stickles

I like it when I can work 2 challenges on one card.

My stamp set is a new one for me from stampin-up -"season of joy". I have seen so many beautiful cards made with this set so I purchased it. So more to come from me with this set in the weeks ahead.
I really like the designer paper that I used as well. Although, it's a discontinued one from stampin-up-called dashing. The papers are so whimsical, and I will be disappointed when it's all used up.

Thanks for visiting my new blog. I am having so much fun posting my card creations.

During my blog-surfing I found a new challenge that I am excited about.
It's the stamping sisters in Christ challenge group. This is their blog
The challenge is to make a card/project using the colors of fall.
The layout I used on my card is from splitcoaststampers. They have a sketch challenge every Wednesday. It's always a fun layout. I think it helps a lot when making cards.

I make thanksgiving cards for friends and family and of course my 3 grandsons. I have a small start on these cards and today I finished another one.
I just purchased this great scripture stamp from Verve and decide to use it on this card.
This scripture is from 1Chronicles 16. It is a thanksgiving psalm that King David composed and gave to his chief musician, Asaph. It was sung when the ark of the covenant was brought into the tent that King David had prepared.

So I think its very appropriate to use on a thanksgiving card.

Matt's 50th

Hi and thanks for visiting "the charmed life blog". I am excited to finally have this blog up and running. It was one of my goals this year and I completed it before year-end. That's definitely a whoo-hoo!!

Well, that brings me to my posting for today. My stampin-up demo, Christine, told me that her husband was celebrating his 50th birthday this week-end. They are such a sweet couple. She has a family party planned for him on Saturday.

I was shocked. He doesn't look any where near 50. Whatever that looks like!!

I wanted to send him a card and we all know how difficult those masculine cards can be. No fuss and no frills.

I was trying to convey on this card my surprise at his age. Hence the whoooo knew sentiment and the banner announcing his age. I love this cute little owl. It's from the stampin-up bright delights rub-ons.

The layout on my card is from mercy kerin's tuesday sketch challenge.

I used stampin-up blue bayou card stock and designer paper. My white cardstock is from gina k.

The horizontal panels are popped up on dimesnionals for depth. This is my first attempt at making a banner. I used dimensional on this as well and rolled it around a pen before adding it to my card.

my card recognized on lama blog

greetings to all who are visiting my brand new blog. I am still in the learning curve of how I want this to look so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

on saturday at splitcoaststampers, "smilyn stef", hosts an inspiration challenge. she has sent us to many really great websites for our card making inspiration. this past saturday we visited the lama e-store (latin america in the modern age) site. this is a fantastic site with vibrant colors and fantastic designs.

I looked through every category on this site and I finally chose this card from the gifts section as my inspiration.

I created this card using stamps from hero arts flourishes & poinsettia collection and my sentiment is from mse little birdie collection.

on sunday, I found out that my card was chosen in the favs of the week and then on monday "smilyn stef" sent me an email and advised me my card was posted on the lama blog. They gave a tribute to scs and to stef for using their site for the inspiration challenge.

needless to say, I am very excited.

this is my first post on my new blog.

I made this card for the crazy 4 challenges sketch from 09-19-09.

Cindy Haffner designed the sketch this week-and a great one it is. This card came together fairly easy.

I wanted to make a thanksgiving card so I decided to use some of my darcie's die-cuts that I bought at a stamp show this summer.

I love the rich color in these. I think it works well with this Bo-Bunny decaf dots dsp.

My stamp is from PSX and I also used a cuttlebug embossing folder-autumn type. These folders do a great job of embossing and it adds such a rich look to your card.
