Side Step Garden card

Happy Saturday morning my Blogger friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with The Charmed Life Blog this first Saturday in May.

It's going to be a beautiful day here so I want to get outside and do some walking before the day gets ahead of me. There is lots of activity in my neighborhood this morning. I hear lawn mowers and see my neighbors just getting their garden beds ready for planting. I live on a level street so there are some walkers already today getting their morning exercise.

I just finished a 1 1/2 hr Facetime chat with my granddaughter. I look forward to those calls every day. Some days it's later because she has to do online school during the quarantine. But as soon as she is finished the Ipad starts ringing.  She is at such a precious age and I just wish I could keep her this innocent for a long time. But time marches on!! I just have to keep telling myself that there will be plenty of new seasons to enjoy with her.

Now let's move onto my card for today. This one I created for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog

Design Steps:
This week I decided to use a fun card fold to display the ladder image. I made a side step card. Check out this step by step tutorial with a video for how to create one. Here is another tutorial that a former DT member did for our Blog. They are fairly easy and also fun to decorate with images or stamps.
This is one of those cards for me, that is a work in progress. When I started I wasn't really sure how I would decorate the side steps. So I started with the main rectangle panel. I found this designer paper in my stash and thought it would work for a sky background.

Next, I cut all the images from the Garden Ladder die. I used various colors of Stampin'-Up cardstock.
I attached the images to the designer paper and then the card front.
Next I started on the side steps. On the first step, I used the garden tools from the Potting Shed die. On step 2 I used the seed packets from the Planter Box & Seeds die. The tulips on Step 1 are also from this die. On the 3rd step, I used the same die for the heart banner.
On the last step, I placed my sentiment. This is a card for a friend for Mother's Day.
For the back of the card, I stamped a Mother's Day sentiment and added a small flowerpot.
Well, that's it for me for today. So until next time...….God bless.
