Penguin Bearing Gifts

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with the Charmed Life Blog today.

I have my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter visiting with me this week. They will be here until Tuesday. We have been having a great family time. So this post is going to be short because I just have a few minutes before my granddaughter wakes up and we start our day.

This is my sample for Color Challenge #697. I was the hostess and I chose smoky slate, berry burst and granny apple green for my color trio. Optional this week is Christmas in July. I like using non-traditional colors to make Christmas cards.

This is also my card for my weekly DT post on the CottageCutz Blog. We are having a throwback month in July and featuring previously released dies to give some fresh ideas.

My favorite TV shopping channel is having a Christmas in July event, and it has put me in the Christmas spirit. So in the midst of some hot and humid summer weather here in Pittsburgh, I have created a wintry scene to cool things down a bit (LOL)!!!

My cute little penguin carrying a Christmas present is a die from CottageCutz as is the layered pine tree. I used berry burst cardstock for his scarf and hat and the present is cut in granny apple green with a berry burst bow.

On the pine tree, I used mossy meadow cardstock. Stampin’-Up is calling this dark green a neutral. And you know neutrals are ok to use along with the challenge colors.

I embossed the white background with the Stampin’-Up softly falling embossing folder. I cut a few extra snowflakes with white glitter paper just for some added interest at the top of the card.

On the snowbank I used Stampin’-Up chunky glitter and then my Christmas Greetings sentiment cut in berry burst. The die is also from CottageCutz.

Well, I didn't get the post done before my sweet little granddaughter woke up and now she is being put to bed for the night.  That's my card for today. So until next time...….God bless.
