happy fall

happy friday to you and thanks for taking the time to stop by and check out my latest creation.

this was a special day for my husband & I. our youngest grandson came to stay overnight. he loves doing that as part of his birthday present. he gets to come without his brothers for some individual time with us.

we took him to the local high school football game. it was raining fairly heavy for awhile-oh the things you do for those grandkids!! our team won so that made the soaking we got worthwhile.

now onto my card!! I made this card for the friday challenge over at splitcoaststampers. we were to do a fall-themed card. the focal point of our creation was to be something stamped.

I love this little scarecrow from an old stamp set called "happy fall y'all". I stamped , embossed and then colored him with markers. I used 3-d dots to raise him up a little. the card layout is the sketch from wednesday's challenge at splitcoast.

the cuttlebug folder with all the autumn words fit so well here.

the leaves are buttons i found in my stash.

that's it for today, my friends. Oh, remember to leave me a comment. I love hearing from you.
card recipe:
stamps: stampin-up happy fall y'all
paper: choc chip, vv, more mustard, autumn vine dsp, gina k white
ink: choc chip
accessories: cb ef, buttons oval punch, markers

Great use of the embossing folder and the cute leaf buttons.
So glad you had a fun time (albeit a wet time) with your grandson at the football game.

  3. Aunt Mary,
I think your cards and blog are great! You are very creative, and I am glad that you finally have the time to devote to it! You are very busy in your retirement! Some people have a hard time adjusting to retirement, but it looks like you figured it all out! Thanks for sharing! You are an inspiration to me!

    Love, Julie :)
