Congrats

Happy Saturday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. We have really had some hot, humid weather the past few days. I am lovin' it- I tell ya!!

My grandsons were here the last few days, and we spent hours in my neighbors pool. Just the stuff you should do in the summer time.

Now onto my card for today. This one I made for 2 challenges on Splitcoaststampers. The Friday Queen For A Day  and the Free For all challenge.

Jeanne was our hostess for F4A123  and she wanted us to take some of those paper scraps from other projects and create an interesting background for our card by arranging the bits and pieces. This was perfect for the QFTD119 challenge.

Mary Brown aka stampercamper was chosen as Queen this week. The idea behind this challenge is to select one of her creations and recreate it. She is a great clean and simple stamper. I chose her little leaves card.

I kept the same colors and layout. Instead of a die-cut, I embossed the single poppy image from the Marks Finest Papers set - "welcome poppies".

I change the ribbon color to peach parfait.

My sentiment is from another Marks Finest Papers set -"fabulous dogs".

I used a My Favorite Things die - fishtail flags stax for my pennant. Well that's it for this post. I have another one coming today as well. So until next time..................God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Crafty Calendar Challenge has a flowers in bloom challenge this month.
2.  Chocolate, Coffee and Cards has an anything goes challenge.
3.  Fun with Shapes and more wants us to use a die-cut or punch. I used a pennant die on my card.
4. Paper Play Challenges wants us to use flgs/pennants/banners. I use a flag for my sentiment.

You look fabulous

I promised a 2nd post for today and here it is. This card I amde for the Inspiration challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

Stef is our hostess and she chose a great site for us to get our card inspiration from. It's Denizmom’s Etsy Store.
So many cute things there. I chose this crocheted dog as my inspiration.

For my card I used the poodle image from the Marks Finest Papers set - "fabulous dogs".

My layout is from Wednesday's SCS sketch challenge #391.

The bg patterend paper is from Lasting Impressions. The sentiment is from the Marks Finest Papers set "silly shells".

Well that's it for this post. So until next time......God bless.

Also playing in:
1.  Frosted Designs fabulous Friday challenge is to use circles.
2.  Poodles Parlour has a cute and/or cuddly challenge.
3.  Creative Card Crew has a 1-2-3 challenge. I used 1 striped paper-2 die cut circles-     3 rhinestones

Happy Birthday Cowgirl

HappyTthursday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. This has been a busy week with having my grandsons here for sleepovers.

Aidin had a basketball camp on this side of town and then for 3 evenings they both had baseball games. So we have been running back and forth between our house and theirs. But tomorrow is the last day of this camp.

We have had fun with them. It will be quiet here tomorrow evening.

So onto the card I made for today. This one was for the Ways to Use It #381 challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Hannah challenged us to make something for a child, inspired by a child, or simply with a child on it!

I used this sweet little girl and horse image from Marks Finest Papers set "cowgirls rule".
I embossed the image in lucky limeade ink and just made her hair brown. I then fussy cut the image.

My birthday sentiment is another Marks Finest Papers set "island life".

My layout is Wednesday's sketch challenge #391.

The patterned papers are from Stampin-Up's "cheerful treat" designer paper collection.

That's my card for today. It's late and I am so tired so time to dim the lights in charmed life land for another day.

My Friend

Happy Tuesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. It was a busy weekend and then my week started off with my grandsons on a sleepover. One of them is going to a basketball camp on this side of town. It was easier to have them here rather than my driving back and forth 6 times,

We had a fun night playing our favorite card game "war" and our favorite guess who game. They just love doing the same things every time they come. This morning we took Aidin to the camp and then Ethan went swimming in my neighbor's pool. I thought it was a bit chilly at 74 degrees to swim, but it was sunny and he loved it.

Around 4:00 we drove back to the boys home and then took Ethan to his little league game. They won and he hit a home run. It was an over the fence home run. We were so proud and excited for him.

So onto my card for today. This one I made for the color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
Julia is our hostess and she wanted us to use pool party, island indigo and white as our colors.

For my card I used the poppy image from the new set by Mark’s Finest Papers “welcome poppies”.
I heat embossed the image on island indigo cardstock with white embossing powder.  I used pool party as my card base.

Added some white satin ribbon and island indigo ruffled ribbon and my bow has a pool party button in the center.

The sentiment is from another Mark’s Finest Papers set – “dogwood blossoms”. I completed my card with pearls and a butterfly punched with pool party cardstock.

My layout is a copy from this card that I made last week. Well, its late and time to dim the lights in charmed life land for another day. So until next time........God bless.

Some other challenges:
1Lollipop Crafts has a "flowers in bloom" challenge.
2.  Made Especially For You blog has a heat embossing challenge.
3.  Let's Ink It Up has a "favorite embellishment" challenge. I love my ribbon.

I really like the seashells in this new set and I was determined to use them for my sample card. So I took some cheesecloth to simulate a net and filled it with the stamped shells, some clam buttons and pearls. The images were stamped with versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.

I took some twine and ran it around the cheesecloth and tied a knot on each end. Don't know how to make a sailor's knot so I did a "faux" one (lol).

My sentiment is from the island life set from yesterday. I am going to give this card to my friend who is going to the Outer Banks next week. She loves the beach. I thought I would pack her a little travel package of goodies for the 10 hour drive.

Well this is the final day of the hop. I hope you have enjoyed all my samples as well as the rest of the team. Next stop is MariLynn's blog.

Some other challenges:
1.  Repeat Impressions DCC620 ~ Head for the Beach Challenge
2.  Sarah Hurley has a dimention & texture challenge. I used cheesecloth and embossed my sea shells, added pearls & twine.

For my card today, I first embossed my image with a suede ink and clear embossing powder.
I brayered the background with a yellow, red and a berry ink to create my sky. I was trying to create a tropical looking scene.
I sponged the bottom of the card with a light blue ink to create my water.  At the horizon, I used another shade of blue.

I stamped my sentiment in a suede ink. I sponged in the sand on the image with a crumb cake ink and then used a toothbrush to flick in some suede ink to make it look like sand.

That's my card for today. See you back here tomorrow for the final day of the hop. I will send you over to Marilynn's blog for the next stop.

Some other challenges:
1.  4 Crafty Chicks has a by the sea challenge.
2.  Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge is "anythinggoes with transportation.

For my card today, I decided to use a quilting technique with the top note die and make a sewing collage . I punched 12 squares of designer paper, using a 1 1/4" square punch.

I taped them onto a piece of cardstock and then ran it though my Big Shot machine. It makes such a lovely quilt pattern. I used an embossing folder on the card base.

I stamped the sewing machine and measuring tape in soft suede ink. The scissors are stamped in rose red ink. I fussy cut these. Used a button die and cut the buttons from rose red cardstock.

That's my card for today. See you back here tomorrow with another sample.

I love this new set. The poppy images are so beautiful. For this card, I colored my image with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I popped up the top flower for some dimension.

I found some great designer paper in my stash. I thought it complemented the poppies well. I stamped my sentiment and added some Spellbinder pennants to complete my card.

The layout on this card is from the Sweet Sunday Sketch #161.

This 2nd card is another one that I made with this new set. I used the emboss resist technique. I stamped the image with Versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder on kraft cardstock.

I sponged wild honey distress ink and tangerine tango on the background. Added some chocolate satin ribbon and layered a crushed curry grosgrain over that. Tied a satin bow with a button center to complete this card.

That's it for me today. The next stop on the hop is Marilynn's blog.

You Look Fabulous

Happy Tuesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. We had a great week-end. It was spent with family and different celebrations.
Friday night we went to my husband's niece' home for a birthday party. It was a good time of talking and just enjoying each others company.

On Sunday we went to my side of the family to a nieces high school graduation. Another good time of conversation, food and enjoying each other. Even in the 90 degree heat!!

So no crafting for me over the week-end so I got right to it on Monday. But I kept getting side tracked and was only able to make this one card. But, that's okay because I have the rest of the week yet (lol).

This is my card for the color challenge #379 on Splitcoaststampers. Karen is our hostess and she chose some great colors for us this week.

We are to use cajun craze, cherry cobbler, baja breeze and as dessert lucky limeade.

I found some great designer paper in my stash from BoBunny to use for my background panel.
I flipped it over and used the cajun craze dotted side for one of my rectangle panels and some Stampin-Up baja breeze for the other rectangle panel.

Used the Tim Holtz rosette die to make a rosette in cherry cobbler and added a lucky limeade center.

The “you look fabulous” sentiment is stamped in cajun craze ink. It’s from a soon to be released stamp set by Marks Finest Papers – “silly shells”. It has seashell images and lots of sentiments.

To complete my card I added some Spellbinders pennants cut in cajun craze.

The card layout is this weeks MojoMonday sketch #245.

Well, that's it for me today. So until next time.......God bless

Some other challenges:
1.  Craft Your Passion has an anything goes challenge.
2.  Lollipop Crafts has a flowers in bloom challenge.
3.  Polka Doodles has a lots of flowers challenge.

Blessings

Happy Thursday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. We had such a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh. Lots of sunshine and warm weather. I had the windows open and was just enjoying the fresh air.

I am trying to catch up on things around the house since I have returned from San Francisco. And, of course I have to catch up on all the crafting I missed for 35 days (lol).

So I made this card today. Over on the Our Daily Bread Designs blog there is a challenge to make a black and pink card /and or gray and vanilla. I chose the black and pink.

My stamped image is from the ODBD set "birds and butterflies". Love this set because it coordinates with the Spellbinders labes 18 die.

The sentiment is from the ODBD set "Mothers Day". I just stamped the word blessings from a longer sentiment. Used my stamp-a-ma-jig positioner for replacement.

My designer paper is from Bo-Bunny and the dotted panel from Lasting Impressions. I found this black flourish in my stash and thought I would use it instead of ribbon. Punched some buutterflies with a MS punch to complete my card.

The layout is an old Sweet Stop Sketch #57. That's it for me today. So until next time......God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  The Southern Girls have a "things with wings" challenge.
2.  Oldie but Goodie blog has an "anything goes" challenge. Everything on my card is over a year old.

Miss You Phoenix Daisy

Happy Wednesday and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. I came back from California on Saturday night and today I felt like I had mastered the 3 hour time difference.

I went to bed at a decent time last night and woke feeling refreshed this morning. I don't know if its West to East or East to West that is more difficult. But it's all over now. Well that part of it anyway. I am still missing my sweet Phoenix Daisy a lot.

So I made her a card today. I will send it out along with one this picture. My son said she was in the room where I slept and looked in the bathroom for me. Don't know what goes through a 17 month old baby's mind. She had me for 35 days and then I was gone.

I am counting the days until July 20 and she comes to Pittsburgh to visit me.
This is the photo I will send her. We were just playing with some water. Grandma's can do that and make a mess and not care (lol)!!

I had this cute die cut from Darcie's Stamps that I wanted to use. So I built my card around that.
My designer paper is from Stampin-Up's "cheerful treat" collection. I love all the bright patterns in this pack.

I paired the designer paper with pink pirouette and melon mambo card stock. It was the perfect match.

My sentiment is from the MFT set "love you with all my heart set. Added some ribbon and a bow with a lucky limeade brad to complete my card.

My layout is this week's sketch #388 from Splitcoaststampers.

Well it's late and time to dim the lights in charmed life land for another day. So until next time ..........God bless.

Some other challenges:
1.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has a ribbon and flowers challenge.
2.  Pretty Little Ribbon Shop has a lots of layers challenge.
3.  Paper Shelter Challenge wants us to use dots.
4.  Celebrate The Occasion blog has a thinking of you challenge and use a flower.

Romantic Silhouette

Happy Tuesday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the charmed life blog. Well, I am back from San Francisco. I returned on Saturday. It was an emotional departing but I have all the memories. And, a big plus is that my sweet Phoenix Daisy is coming to visit in July.

I was able to FaceTime on my Ipad on Sunday so I did get to see Phoenix and sing some of her favorite songs to her. She kept leaning to the screen and kissing my face. How I love this precious little baby girl.

So after a 30 day hiatus, I was able to stamp today. I felt really rusty and it took forever to complete my card but I managed to get one done. I created this one for the color challenge #378 on Splitcoaststampers.
Julia is our hostess and she chose a great trio of colors with certainly celery, pool party and daffodil delight.

I used a new Great Impressions silhouette stamp (G456S) for my image. It is stamped in the pool party color.

The designer paper is from Stampin-Up's "attic boutique" collection.

My layout is the current MFT sketch #74. I used the dizzy doily die and cut in daffodil delight. My scallop is also MFT and cut in daffodil delight as well.

My ribbon treatment is pool party seam binding and a Stampin-Up vintage brad center.

That's my card for today. It's late and time to dim the lights in charmed life land for another day. Until next time ...........God bless.

Some other challenges:
1. Make It Monday has an anything goes challenge.
2.  Ooh La La Creations has a "make it girly" challenge
3.  Cutie Pie Challenge wants us to use die cuts or punches. I used 2 dies.
4.  Great Impressions Stamp blog also wants us to use die/cuts or punches
.
